WE HELP BY DOING WHAT WE TRULY KNOW
We support yourchance, a public benefit organisation, with projects Začni správně (Start Correctly) and Finanční gramotnost do škol (Financial Literacy to Schools).
The purpose of yourchance o.p.s. is to promote the necessary changes in teaching financial literacy, business principles, and enhancement of entrepreneurial spirit of elementary and secondary school pupils as well as the integration of young adults leaving foster care units.
We believe that it is important for people to understand a direct correlation among personal values, goals, work ethic and healthy financial habits.
ZAČNI SPRÁVNĚ (START CORRECTLY)
We help young people from children’s homes or foster families to be able to stand up on their own feet and to live full and independent lives. We provide an individual assistance when looking for jobs, resolving financial situations and in the area of personal development. At the same time, once in a month, we organize educational and discussion seminars and meetings focused on various topics – communication, drawing up family budgets, job interviews, family and partnership relations and others.
FINANČNÍ GRAMOTNOST DO ŠKOL (FINANCIAL LITERACY TO SCHOOLS)
We support education in financial literacy at primary and secondary schools for which we also provide educational materials for an interactive learning. The goal is to actively involve pupils in the study, thus making them think about the issue in the context. In addition, the project is dedicated to adult education, especially focusing on teachers and parents who consequently pass healthy financial habits on their children. Within the project we organise interactive workshops for teachers and so called Project Days in the individual schools; the goal of which is to instil the basic principles of financial literacy in pupils’ minds using interactive methods.
Within Finanční gramotnost (Financial Literacy) project we work with the following target groups:
- schools and teachers (we jointly form financially literate schools)
- young generation (we teach the principles of healthy financial habits)
- parents (we help parents in developing financial literacy of their children)
- relevant governmental organizations (we influence the system of financial education).
PATRONS OF THE PROJECT
Eva Josefíková (an actress), Markéta Mátlová (a soprano) and Tomáš Marek (a dancer) were delighted to become our patrons. Tomáš Marek compared the reason to be an active member of the project to the quote by Jan Werich: “Nobody needs to think that he is something more or better than the other. Maybe, he has more in his noddle. Maybe, he wears better shirt, has more skilful hands, maybe bigger biceps. But all this only obliges him to do more for those having smaller biceps and worse shirts. However, this can be understood only by people who love people. To like people and to love people, it is the only recipe for happiness, and that applies to all people.”

The most beneficial was financial literacy – before I did not know how to dispose with my money. Thanks to the project I was able to attend a barista course.
